About Me
I am interested in pursuing a career that will allow me to use my skills in writing, editing, and communication. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from NC State University with a Bachelor's in English with a concentration in Creative Writing in May 2013. Prior to my graduation, I was offered a full-time opportunity as a Recruiter/Office Coordinator at Innovative Talent Solutions, a boutique staffing firm, and quickly moved to a full-time recruiting role. Additionally, I have worked as a Resident Advisor for NC State University, as a Human Resources intern at Innovative Talent Solutions, as a Marketing intern for C&M Online Media, Inc., an ebook publishing company, and as a Copy-Editor for the Technician, the student-run newspaper at NC State University.
As a Recruiter, I was responsible for sourcing and screening candidates, conducting interviews over the phone and in person, and marketing candidates to clients. I recruited candidates in a variety of fields, industries, and levels--from supportive roles to managerial--for direct-hire and temporary roles. I performed a high volume number of calls regularly and generated warm leads through referrals, cold calls, and setting appointments. In October 2013, I received a a review on yelp for my quality research and recruiting efforts from one of my former candidates.
As a Recruiter/Office Coordinator, I served as the point of contact for all candidates and clients. I also managed the writing, editing, and posting of all employment advertisements for the firm. Additionally, I provided marketing support to the firm and performed full-cycle recruiting for direct-hire roles. I also managed the benefits administration for all new hire activity and initiated background checks, reference checks, and employment verifications that adhere to client compliant standards.
As a Resident Advisor, I planned, advertised, and implemented programs and regularly served on a bi-weekly crisis rotation.
As a Human Resources intern for Innovative Talent Solutions, I wrote job advertisements, recruited candidates, and marketed the company through social media. I was also responsible for updating the company's marketing and human resource materials, including handouts, forms and contracts.
As a Marketing intern for C&M Online Media, Inc., I developed book trailers, press releases and product description templates, and a marketing plan in order to market my client's book. I was also responsible for editing and providing feedback on my client's book.
As a Copy-Editor for the Technician, I was responsible for fact checking and copy-editing newspaper articles.
